BJP releases manifesto for Lok Sabha Polls in presence of PM Modi, promises 'One Nation, One Election'
The party manifesto, or 'Sankalp Patra', was unveiled at the BJP headquarters in Delhi in the presence of top party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.
by Edited By: Vaidehi Jahagirdar · India TVJust a week before the commencement of the first phase of voting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday released the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s manifesto, 'Sankalp Patra', for the Lok Sabha Polls 2024. The release of the BJP's manifesto today coincided with the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, a towering leader from the Dalit community and an architect of the Indian Constitution.
While speaking at the manifesto launch event, PM Modi termed the manifesto as 'Vksit Bharat ka sankalp'. He said it is Modi's guarantee that the free ration scheme will continue for the next 5 years.
"Now we will work towards reducing the electricity bill of crores of families to zero and creating earning opportunities from electricity. We have implemented the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme," he added.
"Today is the best day for the manifesto launch. Navratri is underway. Today is the day of Maa Katyani who is holding a lotus in both her arms. This is also a coincidence that today is Baba Saheb's birth anniversary.
Sankalp Patra empowers the four pillars of developed India: youth, poor, farmers and women. Our focus is on the dignity of life and jobs through investment," the PM said.
We are going to create jobs by building lots of infrastructure, he added.
Modi's guarantee is that treatment worth Rs 5 lakh will be available under Ayushman Yojana, the PM said.
Marking the occasion of the release, BJP president Nadda in his address, praised the Modi government over its development work in rural India.
"Today, as we launch the Sankalp Patra, we will learn and discuss how we will serve the country for the next five years under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. Modi ji ensures his involvement in all the events and activities of the Party. The proper functioning of the BJP has always been his top priority. I heartily welcome him to this event," Nadda said.
Further, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while speaking during the occasion also hailed ten years of the Modi government and said under the leadership of PM Modi, the BJP has fulfilled all its promises made to general public. "I am glad and satisfied that under the leadership of Modi Ji, we have fulfilled every promise made to the countrymen. Be it the Sankalp Patra of 2014 or the Ghoshna Patra of 2019, under the splendid leadership of Modi Ji, we have fulfilled every Sankalp," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
It is pertinent to note that the BJP had appointed a 27-member manifesto committee headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that met twice to deliberate on its contents after the party had launched multiple exercises, including vans sent across the country and social media campaigns, to seek people's suggestions.
