Highlights! Bo Nickal powers through subpar outing, chokes out Cody Brundage in two | UFC 300

by · MMAmania.com

Bo Nickal captured another victory earlier tonight (Sat., April 13, 2024) at UFC 300 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the undefeated middleweight prospect stopped Cody Brundage with a second-round submission to spark the unforgettable main card.

Brundage was probably the best wrestler that Nickal has faced in his professional MMA career so the beginning of the fight was going to be the most telling moment. The two middleweights exchanged some strikes, but once Nickal got tagged he quickly reverted back to his wrestling. It worked, though, as Brundage wasn’t able to defend. It allowed Nickal the chance to score valuable top time and threaten with a ton of chokes.

Nickal continued his grappling in the second round as Brundage started to wear. The former collegiate wrestling star pressured with more submissions and it forced Brundage to start squirming on the ground. That’s when Nickal transitioned to a rear-naked choke and captured the submission finish he was looking for. It wasn’t the greatest performance and one that even Nickal booed himself.

Check out the final moments below and let us know what you thought about Nickal’s PPV performance!
