'Not a big issue' - Andre Onana explains why Manchester United concede so many shots

Man United have conceded almost 100 shots in three Premier League games since the March international break.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana says he is not concerned by the number of shots Manchester United are facing, claiming their offensive style of play is a direct contributor.

Despite earning a respectable point against Liverpool last Sunday, United had to withstand 28 shots from the visitors. Since the March international break, United have conceded 87 shots over just three matches. It has resulted in their style of play being heavily criticised.

But Onana, who has improved considerably as this season has developed, does not believe it is a 'big issue', suggesting it stems from his teammates' desire to get on the front foot.

"Last season, Manchester United didn't concede so many shots," Onana told Sky Sports. "But I don't think it's a big issue because at the end of the day, football is about goals and now we are scoring a lot.

"We'll receive some against us sometimes, but we have defenders that work hard and we will do everything to block the shots. It's the risk we take because we are a very offensive team with the quality we have in front."

United have had to contend with an unprecedented amount of injuries, particularly at centre-back. They will make the trip to Bournemouth on Saturday without Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans through injury.

Onana continued: "Well, it's quite easy when you're used to playing with the same back four. We are Manchester United, so every player around the first team has the level to belong here.

"Unfortunately, we have a lot of injuries but that is an opportunity for others - like Willy [Kambwala], he was brilliant for us. Of course, when you are used to playing with the same line, it's the best, but at the moment we don't have that. So we just have to deal with the situation, stay positive and look forward."
