'We cannot hide' - Diogo Dalot's frank Manchester United admission following Bournemouth draw
Man United defender Diogo Dalot addressed Man United's ability to recover after their stalemate at Bournemouth.
by George Smith · Manchester Evening NewsRight-back Diogo Dalot felt he and his Manchester United teammates demonstrated their commitment to the cause after twice fighting back to earn a point against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.
United and Bournemouth shared four goals in what was an entertaining contest on the south coast. United fell behind after just 16 minutes via a coolly-taken Dominic Solanke effort before restoring parity through Bruno Fernandes.
The Cherries were back in front just five minutes later via Justin Kluivert. He then spurned a great opportunity to put the home side 3-1 up just before the break, denied by an excellent save from Andre Onana.

Though they were still second best after the interval, United were given a get out of jail free card when a Kobbie Mainoo effort deflected off one Bournemouth player and onto the arm of Adam Smith, meaning a penalty was awarded. Fernandes stepped up to score his second of the game and earn Erik ten Hag's side a point.
"We had a good opportunity here to come and get the three points," Dalot told MUTV. "We knew it was going to be a really tough game, really physical, a lot of duels, one-vs-one situations and I think we did actually start well with the ball.
"However, we lost control some times building up from the back in situations that we shouldn't and we gave them a little bit of confidence to score two goals. The big positive from today is that we fought for the result, coming from behind to get a result."
United, despite squandering leads late on in recent weeks, have rarely downed tools and thrown in the towel this season., with their 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup last month a prime example. Dalot insists the team's hunger has been on show this term despite accepting improvements need to be made.
The defender added: "I think that hunger of trying to fight until the end is something that we have been showing this season. It has been a positive thing in my opinion although we have a lot of things that we should improve as a team and as individuals.
"There are some things that we need to take responsibility for, we cannot hide from it. The standards are always high at this club and we have to be really, really accountable for these types of mistakes that we are making as a team that we cannot if you want to fight for the big trophies and the big competitions"
