Amanda Holden net worth V Sharon Osbourne's after bragging Simon Cowell salary 'went on a few handbags'
Amanda Holden has sparked an unprecedented feud with Sharon Osbourne as the Britain's Got Talent star defended Simon Cowell from comments the reality show legend made
by Seamus Duff · The MirrorSharon Osbourne and Amanda Holden have raised eyebrows this week by taking aim at each other and their respective careers - leaving many questioning who earns more between the ladies.
The gloves came off after 53-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda stuck up for her friend and fellow BGT star Simon Cowell, 64, after Sharon, 71, and fellow former X Factor judge Louis Walsh made catty comments about him while they were starring on Celebrity Big Brother last month. Amanda took aim at Sharon and Louis, 71, by suggesting they owed their own success and fortunes to Simon as he gave them a seat in the spotlight as judges on The X Factor - which pulled in 20 million viewers per week during its heyday.
However, Amanda appeared to overlook the fact that Sharon and Louis are both wildly successful in their own right as both work as music managers and Sharon also became reality show royalty in 2002 when she and her family, including rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, 75, starred in the MTV show The Osbournes. Amanda said this week: "I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon - he's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had."
This comment provoked Sharon to hit back via social media, writing: “Our worlds are totally different. I have been blessed with an amazing lifestyle throughout my entire life. Before you were born, I was living in a mansion in Beverly Hills, and continue to do so today and continue to have my country estate in England as well. But there is something you should know. I never discuss money, lifestyle, or positions of power. I find it to be classless and crude. However, you’ve now forced my hand to divulge these things to you and I honestly don’t want to seem like I’m bragging, but the truth is my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell shows. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed doing them at the time as they were great fun. Yes, Simon paid me very well. Probably more than what you’re receiving today, but all of that my darling went on a few handbags.”
Fans now want to know just how much the two ladies are worth - and it seems there are hundreds of millions of wealth separating Amanda and Sharon. TV fans will see Amanda back on screens this month as Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV for a seventieth season.
Amanda - who has been married to music producer Chris Hughes since 2008 and shares two daughters with him - has been on the BGT judging panel since the show launched in 2007. While she also hosts a radio show on Heart FM, presents a host of other shows, and has an impressive acting career that saw her star in classic series including the hairdressing drama Cutting It and feel good drama Wild At Heart. She has her own management company which has looked after a range of other musicians and acts including The Smashing Pumpkins and Motorhead and has a hugely successfully TV career both with her family and on her own. The Osbournes debuted on MTV in 2002 and became a global smash as cameras gave fans a fly-on-the-wall look at Sharon and Ozzy’s life together along with their children Kelly and Jack and a large number of their pets. It’s not just The X Factor that Sharon has judged as she was paid a reported £56,000 per episode to be a judge on America’s Got Talent and was reportedly paid £2 million per year to star on The X Factor. She was also a main host of The Talk from 2010 until 2021, had her own chat show from 2003 until 2006, and has appeared on a number of other shows. It was reported she was paid £100K per episode to star on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK in 2023, featuring in nine episodes.
Sharon and her husband also own a huge property portfolio - with homes in Los Angeles, Buckinghamshire and Hollywood - with the homes said to be worth from £3.8 million - £14.5 million.
