Jeremy Doku claims Man City have higher standards than Arsenal amid Premier League title race

by Stephen Killen · football.londonManchester City forward Jeremy Doku has suggested that his current club holds higher standards than Arsenal. Despite recognising both Arsenal and Liverpool as 'top teams', the Belgian insists that they maintain the 'highest standards'.
City have been a dominant force in the Premier League in recent years, securing five of the last six top-flight titles under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, and even clinched a treble last season. Doku made his move to the Etihad Stadium this summer, signing from Rennes in a deal worth £55.5m, and is aiming to secure his first Premier League title.
Currently, City are third in the league standings with seven matches remaining, trailing second-placed Liverpool and leaders Arsenal by just one point in what is shaping up to be a nail-biting title race. Speaking to the official City website, Doku said: "We just want to win every game and then we will look where we are at the end of the season.
"The title race is exciting. Arsenal and Liverpool are top teams, and the reality now is that we are third with only one point less than them with games to come.
"All we are doing now is just focusing game-by-game and on us. We will just try to win every game that we have to play and then we can calculate and see what the other teams do. The big focus is just on how we perform and play the games."
Last season, Arsenal led the Premier League table for an impressive 248 days, the longest period for any team that failed to secure the title. Liverpool have been the only side to halt City's dominance in recent years, clinching the Premier League title in the 2019-20 season.

Guardiola expressed last week that securing the Premier League title is a tougher challenge than winning the Champions League, given their ongoing battle with Arsenal and Liverpool.
"I always said and people don't believe me, I think the Premier League or the domestic league title are the more difficult ones," Guardiola stated. "Because it is 38 fixtures and being there every single day, and especially the contenders we have this season."
