French President Emmanuel Macron announced Monday that world donors are pledging more than 2 billion euros in aid for Sudan after a year of war that has pushed its population to the brink of famine.

One year since a power struggle between two generals plunged Sudan into violent chaos, the UN and other aid organisations say they do not have the funds to respond to the crisis as famine descends.
