T20 Next Captain: Here’s What Virat Kohli Hinted

Cricket team India captain Virat Kohli who has so far led India in 95 ODIs, and with 65 wins along with 27 defeats with a winning percentage of 70.43 has taken a shocking decision to quit from his responsibilities which fizzled of cricket fans across the world.

While BCCI is in hunt for the new captain and all the media eyes are on what Kohli recommends, the dynamic batsmen on Monday dropped hints fueling the speculations. Kohli more or less confirmed that Rohit Sharma will replace him as T20 skipper. He also revealed that Rohit has been “overlooking things for a while now”.

“I’ve been immensely proud of how the team has played. Now I think it’s time for the next lot to stake this team forward. Obviously Rohit is here and he’s overlooking things for a while now,” Kohli said during the toss ahead of India’s final T20 World Cup match against Namibia here. When asked about his last game as India’s T20I captain, Kohli highlighted that the T20I captaincy makes way for him to put more attention to other formats.

While Kohli will relinquish the T20I captaincy after India’s final World Cup match against minnows Namibia on Monday, former Team India skipper and batting legend Rahul Dravid will replace Shastri as the new head coach of the Men In Blue.
