Kane Williamson's New Zealand will meet giant killers Afghanistan in a match that will decide India's fate in the ongoing ICC World T20 2021 on Sunday. Though India have recorded back-to-back wins against Afghanistan and Scotland in the Super 12 phase of the competition, the Virat Kohli-led side is on brink of shocking elimination from the showpiece following an abysmal start to their T20 World Cup campaign.

India suffered a historic defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan before the Williamson & Co. hammered the Kohli-led side by 8 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium. Thus, a win for the Williamson-led New Zealand side in their final Super12s match of the competition can confirm India's exit from the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup on Sunday. With three wins and a defeat to their name from four games, Williamson-led New Zealand are frontrunners to finish behind Pakistan in Group 2.

While Team India has climbed to the third spot in the Group 2 standings of the ICC World T20 2021, Nabi-led Afghanistan are ranked fourth in the same group with four points from four matches. New Zealand are set to enter match No.40 of the ICC World T20 2021 with their tails up. Jimmy Neesham and Glenn Phillips had guided New Zealand to an impressive win over Namibia on Friday. Sodhi has picked a wicket in all of his first overs in the ICC World T20 2021.

New Zealand vs Afghanistan match prediction: Afghanistan have claimed 8 wins from the 9 matches in the UAE after batting first since 2016. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who is expected to start for Afghanistan can expose the Kiwi batters' struggles against spin on Sunday. Even though the bowling attack of the Asian side spearheaded by spin ace Rashid Khan can have a huge say at Abu Dhabi, it will be the Black Caps who are tipped to secure their semi-final berth with win over the Nabi-led side.
