Prevea Health, Aaron Rodgers end partnership after vaccine controversy

Wisconsin-based health care organization Prevea Health and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers announced that they are terminating their partnership.

In a statement posted to social media, Prevea and Rodgers said their partnership will end effective Saturday.

The quarterback has been a spokesperson for Prevea since 2012 and supported its health care initiatives in the Badger State.

“Prevea Health remains deeply committed to protecting its patients, staff, providers, and communities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” the statement said. “This includes encouraging and helping all eligible populations to become vaccinated against COVID-19 to prevent the virus from further significantly impacting lives and livelihoods.”

The announcement comes after Rodgers sparked controversy when he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, months after telling the press that he had been “immunized” against the virus.

Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, the quarterback said he was in the “crosshairs of the woke mob right now” and blamed the press for assuming that he meant he was vaccinated when he said he was immunized.

Rodgers said that he had a medical treatment against COVID-19 this summer, which the NFL declined to accept as vaccination. He did not say what the treatment entailed.

In a press release late last month, the NFL said that 94 percent of its league players are vaccinated and nearly 100 percent of personnel are vaccinated. The league says that unvaccinated individuals who test positive for COVID-19 have to isolate for 10 days.
