Astroworld concertgoers describe chaos during Travis Scott show

Two friends had hoped to enjoy their weekend at Houston’s Astroworld music festival but instead found themselves entrenched in deadly chaos on Friday.

Marisa Angulo, 18, and Courtney Spencer, 18, have been to Astroworld in years past but have never experienced the madness this year.

“I needed to get out, I’m short, I needed to leave,” Angulo, of Houston, told The Post.

“I watched people get pulled over the barricade,” she added. “I’ve never seen such panicked looks on people’s faces and [Travis Scott] hadn’t even come out to perform yet, people were crying.”

Angulo said she saw beer cans and water bottles thrown between sections in the minutes before rapper Scott took the stage. It appeared that the “food fight”-like experience led up to a “massive wave” of a push that led to panicked fans, Angulo said.

The two waited over six hours in the GA section of the crowd in anticipation of Scott’s performance. Spencer, of Frisco, Texas, got separated from her friend when she got pulled over the barricade and brought to the VIP section.

The crowd continued to push, Spencer said, and could “barely breathe” as an “insane, terrifying” experience made her feel like she was fighting for her life.

She found herself in accidental chokeholds as arms were stuck to her body and had to adjust her feet in the crowd every second to make sure she didn’t fall.

Marisa Angulo and Courtney Spencer were immersed in the crowd of approximately 50,000 for over six hours at the Travis Scott concert at NRG Park in Houston.

Spencer condemned the “inhumane” atmosphere at NRG Park.

The atmosphere of the crowd did not help, either, as Spencer said people did not help out fans who fell to the ground.

“It was absolutely insane,” Spencer told The Post. “They did not care, they did not help you out if you fell down, it was inhumane how these people were acting except for a very few amount of people.”

Travis Scott, who performed Friday night, is “absolutely devastated,” according to his statement.

A lot of factors were contributed to the chaos, but most of the blame should be shifted toward the venue and security, Spencer claimed.

“Most of it’s on them, it was just awful, it was unorganized,” she said.
