Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be paid for their television interview with Oprah Winfrey, according to reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will chat with the legendary host on March 7 to discuss a wide range of issues.

Senior royals are said to have voiced concerns over the 90 minute sit-down but will not try and stop it.

Harry and Meghan have bagged multi-million pound deals with Netflix and Spotify since quitting the royal family in January last year.

But, according to the Telegraph, the couple will not be paid for their primetime interview with Opera.

It is suggested that no topic will be off the table during the chat, with Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, keen to discuss their new life in the US.

Gayle King, a friend of Opera, said on her CBS show: "I'm told that nothing is off limits. She can ask anything she wants."

But the Queen reportedly has faith that her grandson will stick to royal protocol - despite the far-reaching nature of the interview.

The Express reports that 'palace insiders' are confident that the couple will obey royal protocol and 'stand by a promise to uphold Her Majesty’s values.'

An insider was reported to have said of the upcoming interview: "It’s hardly likely to build bridges but there is always the chance the finished product is very tame."

Meghan's decision to open up publicly came after a 'three-year courtship by the chatshow host,' according to the Times.

Oprah, 67, met Meghan in 2018 and attended that year's royal wedding alongside other famous faces including Elton John and the Clooneys.

Meghan and Harry announced their second pregnancy on Valentine's Day with a picture of them sat under a tree.

The new baby will accompany son Archie, one.

Meghan was also last week successful in a privacy case brought against a British newspaper the publishing of a personal letter.

CBS, who are producing the interview, said in a statement: "Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.

"Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the US and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family."
