High recoveries and a low number of fresh COVID-19 cases have reduced the active caseload in Uttar Pradesh to 85, while the percentage of active cases as against the total confirmed cases in the state is 0.01 per cent.

Signaling control over the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, out of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, only six districts reported just 11 fresh novel coronavirus positive cases during the last 24 hours. The state, under its stringent T3 (Trace, Test and Treat) mechanism, conducted more than 73,204 Covid tests in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate (TPR), which shows the level of infection among people, has decreased to less than 0.01 per cent, the lowest in the country.

As Covid recovery rate in Uttar Pradesh steadily follows an upward graph, the state recorded the recovery rate at a remarkable 98.7 per cent. As many as nine COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours in the state.

Taking proactive measures such as aggressive Trace, Test & Treat and prevention through vaccination and partial Covid curfews to eradicate the pandemic, the UP government has left no stone unturned to minimise its devastating impact. As many as 42 districts have no fresh or active COVID-19 cases.

UP has administered 13.29 crore Covid vaccine doses so far. Over 67.18 per cent of the state’s total eligible adult population has received at least one dose of the vaccine while around 22.19 per cent of the eligible population if fully immunised. Of the target population of 15 crore, the state has administered 13.29 crore vaccine doses till Saturday. More than 3.38 crore people in the state have been fully vaccinated.

As the second wave of the novel coronavirus remains in control in the state, the demand to get vaccinated remains high as it is the only option to fight out the invisible enemy. Aggressive vaccination is an integral part of the comprehensive strategy of the Yogi Adityanath government to contain the pandemic, along with adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour.
