‘Metro Man’ E.Sreedharan, BJP’s CM Candidate In Kerala..?

Technocrat E Sreedharan, fondly known as India’s Metro Man’ who is credited with executing several prestigious projects in the country including the Konkan Railway, Delhi Metro and Kochi Metro is all ready to set ripples in Kerala politics.

89-year-old engineer announced that he would be joining BJP next week with the aim to help the party come to power in Kerala. He also stated that he will contest the assembly elections if the party wants and will also be open to chief ministership if the party asks.

In an interesting offer to BJP which is craving to strengthening its base in South India, he also added that he would do campaigning for the party elsewhere in the state besides contesting in the upcoming assembly elections.

In the state which is being ruled by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) alternately for the past many years, Sreedharan’s entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is being seen as a major boost for the party in election-bound Kerala.
