An NDPS court in Kolkata has sent youth BJP leader Pamela Goswami to police custody till February 25 in connection with a possession of drugs case. Bengal state secretary of BJP's youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Pamela Goswami was arrested in possession of cocaine on Friday.

Even as she was being taken out of the court after her hearing on Saturday, Pamela Goswami yelled out her demand for a CID probe into the matter.

In court, Pamela Goswami alleged that she was "framed" as part of a "conspiracy". The BJYM leader even accused BJP's Rakesh Singh of "sending his men to plant" the pouches of cocaine recovered from her vehicle by Kolkata Police.

Responding to the claims, state committee member of BJP's Bengal unit, Rakesh Singh said his name was being taken to discredit him. Singh further alleged that Pamela Goswami had even approached the police against senior BJP leaders in the past weeks, adding that her own father had filed a complaint accusing her of drug consumption.

Pamela's mother Madhuchanda Goswami told India Today TV on Saturday, "My daughter is very good. I know her very well. She is my daughter. We are a middle-class family. We have never even tasted cocaine."

The Kolkata Police say 100 grams of cocaine were found in Pamela Goswami's bag and the car seat. Goswami's friend Probir Kumar Dey was also arrested along with her from NR Avenue in Kolkata's New Alipore area.

As she was being taken to Kolkata Police headquarters in Lalbazar from New Alipore Police station on Friday, Pamela Goswami was heard shouting from inside the police vehicle, "I have been falsely accused."
