Naomi Osaka has brushed Jennifer Brady aside to win her fourth grand slam and second Australian Open.

Naomi Osaka has once again returned to the top of the Tennis world.

She has claimed her fourth grand slam and second Australian Open with a comprehensive 6-4 6-3 victory over American Jennifer Brady at Melbourne Park.

Osaka, who won her first title in Melbourne in 2019, made the better start against first-time slam finalist Brady.

She broke to lead 3-1, but the Japanese player looked nervous as a host of unforced errors allowed her opponent to settle into the match.

Osaka saved a break point to hold for 5-4 under severe pressure and then took advantage of a couple of fortunate bounces to clinch the set 6-4.

It was a huge disappointment for Brady, who must have felt like she was getting on top in the match, and she was unable to put it behind her in the second set.

Osaka raced into a 4-0 lead but Brady composed herself, got her big forehand firing again and pulled two games back.

Osaka managed to keep her opponent at arm's length, though, and clinched a 6-4 6-3 victory and a fourth slam title on her first match point.

Just five months ago, Osaka beat Victoria Azarenka to win the US Open.

She became the first Asian player to win three grand slam titles surpassing China's Li Na, along with the her two US Open wins Osaka also claimed the Australian Open title in 2019.

Her win over Jennifer Brady makes it four grand slams.

Osaka has gained worldwide recognition in recent months as she has consistently used her platform to promote the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement.
