Meghan Markle is working on two new Netflix series, one of which will 'celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship'

Meghan Markle is reportedly working on two brand new Netflix series in a surprise move.

The Duchess of Sussex is developing two projects for the streaming giant - one celebrating the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship, and another set to be filmed at the U.S. Open Polo Championship, according to Variety magazine.

While their titles and release dates are still under wraps, it's reported that both projects are in the early stages of production. Meghan will curate the first series, with Leah Hariton as showrunner and Michael Steed as director.

It will be produced by Sony Pictures Television's Intellectual Property, with Meghan, Hariton, Archewell's Chanel Pysnik, and IPC's Aaron Saidman and Eli Holzman serving as executive producers. This series is rumoured to coincide with Meghan's launch of her latest business venture - lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

Last month, Meghan teased her new lifestyle brand on Instagram, revealing a new logo and a website with a waiting list. However, the official launch date is yet to be confirmed, reports the Express.

American Riviera Orchard will offer a range of unique items, including dog shampoo, chicken feed and yoga bolsters. Meghan's second series promises to give viewers an unprecedented look into the world of professional polo.

The source stated: "Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level."

Milos Balac has been named showrunner for this series, with Prince Harry and Meghan - alongside Psynik, Ian Samplin and several key figures from Boardwalk Pictures - taking on executive producer roles.

The beloved Royal couple have a history of such productions for Netflix within their portfolio via their company Archewell, having previously brought us hit docuseries such as 'Harry and Meghan', 'Heart of Invictus' and 'Live to Lead'.
