Meghan Markle’s Netflix Cooking Show: What We Know So Far

The rumors are true: Meghan Markle will be doing a cooking show on Netflix—but there’s more to it than that. Deadline reported on April 11 that the non-fiction series, which is in early development, will feature Meghan celebrating “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.The show seems to complement the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming lifestyle brand, Americean Riviera Orchard.

So when is the show coming? Will Prince Harry and the couple’s children, Archie and Lilibet, make any appearances? Here’s all we know so far.

What will Meghan’s show be called?

No title has been revealed yet; the show is in early production as of April.

What will the format be?

That hasn’t been made public yet, just that the show will feature Meghan “cooking, gardening, [and] entertaining,” per Deadline.

Who else is involved?

Meghan will be starring in the series. According to Deadline, the show is being produced by “Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation, which is behind series including Hulu’s The D’Amelio Show and A&E’s Leah Remini: Scientology & the Aftermath.

The series has a surprise link to Selena Gomez, as Leah Hariton, a producer for Gomez’s HBO Max series, Selena + Chef, will be serving as showrunner on Meghan’s series. Michael Steed (My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown) will direct. Meghan will executive produce with Chanel Pysnik and IPC’s Eli Holzman and Hariton and Aaron Saidman.

When is the show coming out?

The release date is unknown at the moment. In April, Deadline described the show as being “in early stages of production.”

Will anyone guest star in the series?

That’s unknown for now. Meghan has plenty of high-profile friends though. She also had a pretty star-studded guest list for her Archetypes podcast, including Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and more.

Will Harry, Archie, and Lili appear in the show?

There’s a chance. Harry and Meghan previously let Netflix film in their home for their Harry & Meghan docuseries. Their children appeared in some portions, mostly through home movies and photos the couple released. However, it is not known at this point where Meghan will be shooting her new series.
