Again, Many Killed, Others Kidnapped As Bandits Attack Niger Villages

Many people have been killed and others abducted during an attack by bandits on some communities in Gurmana area in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

Naija News reports that this fresh attack is coming barely 24 hours after the attack on Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi local council.

It was gathered that the bandits stormed Sarkin Zama, Bakin Kogi (Lagbe), Siyiko, and other neighboring villages on motorcycles around 6 pm on Wednesday.

According to reports, the bandits shot sporadically into the air to scare the villagers and then went on to kidnap over 30 people in the villages.

During the attack, some villagers were injured and were taken to health facilities around the communities for medical attention.

Confirming the attack, Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Kokki, told The Nation that the communities were still taking stock to know the certain deaths and the identity of people abducted.

Kokki lamented the local government council has been having countless deadly attacks daily, which have compelled residents to live in fear and at the mercy of the bandits.
