Roman Abramovich sent £34m transfer warning by Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision

Ralf Rangnick has emerged as a potential candidate for the Manchester United job following the Red Devils' latest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision but the German's appointment could spell bad news for Chelsea

Manchester United could serve Chelsea their next major transfer dilemma following the emergence of what could be the Red Devils' next managerial appointment.

The Manchester Evening news report that Solskjaer's position at United is by no means safe and the Norwegian still faces the sack before the end of the end season, which could inadvertently hand Chelsea a storm they've previously struggled to weather before.

Ralf Rangnick is still interested in the United job in light of the growing speculation regarding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position at Old Trafford, according to BILD journalist Christian Falk.

The former RB Leipzig boss and current Lokomotiv Moscow head of sport and development, if appointed at United, could hamper the west London side's development of Cobham's brightest prospects.

Roman Abramovich has proved tremendously successful in paving pathways into the first-team for graduates out of Chelsea's youth system, with the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James now at the forefront of the club's recent glory.

While not every graduate can stamp a place in the Blues' side - Tammy Abraham to AS Roma, Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan and Marc Guehi to Crystal Palace - Marina Granovskaia has still been able to secure a healthy windfall in the meantime.

Chelsea has also been able to tactfully manage destinations of their youngsters to sides who aren't direct threats to the club's ambitions, however, Rangnick's potential appointment at United could change that dynamic completely.

Over the summer Thomas Tuchel lost one of the Blues' most exciting youngsters who were held in the highest regard, Tino Anjorin.

The 19-year-old attacking midfield joined Lokomotiv Moscow - Rangnick's side - on a season-long loan in search of sustained first-team football after concerns, that Chelsea wouldn't be able to offer him minutes due to the wealth of attacking royalty at Tuchel's disposal.

Rangnick, who has a star-studded CV in developing talent from his time in the Bundesliga, proved to be one of the deciding factors in Anjorin's decision to join the Russian side.

A £17 million option-to-buy was ultimately included in the England youth international's loan deal as well as a £34 million buy-back clause, should both Anjorin and the club agree to extend his services onto a permanent basis.

Rangnick's reputation as 'one of the best specialists for football education and player development in the world' tempted one of Chelsea's brightest prospects away from the club, so should United win the German's signature then Abramovich could face a massive threat to one of the club's primary sources of income.
