Son Heung-min has denied claims that Jose Mourinho is 'losing' the dressing room at Tottenham Hotspur.

There is growing frustration towards Mourinho among Spurs supporters following their drop to ninth in the Premier League.

Having topped the table earlier in the season, the North London club are currently in the midst of four defeats in five games and were dumped out of the FA Cup by Everton last week.

Now Spurs' hopes of returning to the Champions League next term increasingly appear to rest on winning the Europa League - a competition Mourinho has won both times he has been involved in the competition.

Speaking ahead of Spurs' last 32-tie with Wolfsberger, Son was asked about rumours regarding the relationship between Mourinho and his players.

"The rumour I think is just a rumour," said Son. "The changing room I think has been fantastic. Obviously it is depending on the results.

"I am very sad if we lose. I am happy if we win. It is like everyone else.

"The mood went a little bit down when we had a couple of bad results but I think the changing room has not changed about these kind of things. Everyone is happy, everyone is having a laugh.

"Everyone is focused in every single game so what should I say? It is a bad rumour."

Son, who insisted it is "unfair" to speak of a new deal at present, also stated that he is not feeling tired despite seeing the goals dry up recently.

"I am always happy when I'm on the pitch and when I'm on the pitch, even if I'm so tired I will try to do my best for my team because they will do it for my team as well.

"So, this is a responsibility for myself and the team. Even if I'm tired, football is going to never disappoint me. We do football with love, even with tiredness. I'm not tired of football.

Mourinho also defended the South Korean, who after an explosive first half to the season, has scored just once in his past 10 matches.

Asked whether fatigue may be a factor, Mourinho responded: "First of all, he's not a striker. He scores like a striker but he's not a striker. He's a winger, so that makes it even more remarkable the number of goals that he scores.

"In the last two matches, he was one of the guys that had more than 28km. 120 minutes against Everton and 90 against City, he ran more than 28km.

"Football is very, very hard. The intensity, the change of intensity, the high intensity, the sprinting is absolutely incredible, what Sonny and the other guys did. So it's not a surprise for me that he pays the price of it a little bit.

"That's the reality of things, but I'm so happy with what he does for the team, so happy with his contribution.

"And he's in the mix with the stats with the other guys who play as strikers. So that makes him even more remarkable."
