Sergio Perez leads Red Bull one-two in Mexico FP3

Red Bull stamped their authority on the Mexican Grand Prix weekend as Sergio Perez topped FP3 in Mexico City, with Red Bull dominating FP3 ahead of qualifying later today.

The Mexican's time of 1:17.024 was good enough for top spot and was only narrowly in front of his teammate Max Verstappen. Verstappen is strong favourite this weekend but to see his teammate up there alongside him will be an even bigger boost for him and Red Bull as they look to strike a double blow to Mercedes in the Drivers' and Constructors' Championship.

Mercedes did all they could but ultimately had to settle for the second row as Lewis Hamilton finished FP3 in third and Bottas one place back in fourth. Mercedes need to strike back after the blow of Austin but they may face a case of damage limitation in Mexico.

Carlos Sainz continued his fine form by finishing fifth and it was a positive session for Yuki Tsunoda who was up in sixth for Alpha Tauri and with Pierre Gasly in eighth, it made for a good session for Honda.

Daniel Ricciardo, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris completed the top ten, but the session very much belonged to Red Bull.

A decisive blow

If it wasn't clear already, Red Bull are now very much favourites. The form of Sergio Perez was a huge bonus and he could be crucial in helping Verstappen out on Sunday.
