BREAKING: APGA's Charles Soludo Extends Lead, Wins 17 out of 21 LGAs

Awka, Anambra state - Professor Charles Soludo, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has seen an increase in his existing margin of lead.

The APGA candidate has won in 17 LGAs while the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Valentine Ozigbo and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, won each.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Andy Uba, has not won any LGA.

The returning officer, Professor Florence Obi, said:

"We’ve taken results from 19 LGAs out of 21. One, we will have to discuss, and one there was no election at all.”

The two LGAs the returning officer was referring to are Orumba North and Ihiala LGA.

The number of registered voters in Orumba North LGA is 93,608 while that of Ihiala LGA is 148,407.

Soludo makes first comment after winning in 17 LGAs

Meanwhile, Soludo has made his first comment as results trickle in. The APGA candidate shared a post on his Instagram page on Sunday evening, November 7.

He shared a photo of him monitoring the results with the caption:

"A cool Sunday evening.
"It is indeed the Lord's day and we must first thank God almighty for his mercy. Indeed, "many are the afflictions of the Righteous, but the Lord delivereth him from them all". "Good evening my people."

Many children gather at Soludo's house, pray for him to win

Similarly, as the collation of the results of the Anambra governorship election continues in Awka on Sunday, November 7, many children have prayed for Professor Soludo to win.

The children who gathered at the country home of Soludo, Isuofia, were said to be those on his scholarship scheme.

One of them was seen chanting "in the name of Jesus" as he and his peers prayed for Soludo to become victorious in the election.
