HOLY S—T.

Whatever idiot said former featherweight champion Max Holloway was washed up and going to get knocked out by lightweight wrecking ball Justin Gaethje at the UFC 300 pay-per-view (PPV) event last Sat. night (April 13) in Las Vegas should probably donkey kick himself in the nuts.

Oh wait, that was me.

Holloway was just seconds away from securing a unanimous decision victory over Gaethje after a commanding performance across five rounds of “BMF” action. Then came a wild firefight to close out the fifth and final frame, which ended with “The Highlight” getting “Blessed” with a crushing right hand.

Dustin Poirier, who holds victories over both Holloway and Gaethje, said it best:

Sorry Justin, but it was Max who was “the best at creating damage.”

With his victory at UFC 300, the 32 year-old Holloway raised his stock (considerably) across two divisions. Arman Tsarukyan, also victorious at UFC 300, is likely to earn the next lightweight title shot, but “Blessed” can parlay his Gaethje win into a championship opportunity at 145 pounds, where he previously held the title.

Reigning featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria, looked stunned by the Hawaiian kill shot.

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev also chimed in:

Early contender for “Knockout of the Year” ... and perhaps of all time.
