Dominic Solanke sets new Bournemouth club scoring record

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke set a new club record in Saturday's home clash with Manchester United.

Solanke found the net in a 2-1 win over Everton last month to equal Joshua King's record for the most goals scored by a Bournemouth player in a single Premier League campaign.

King previously held the outright record after scoring 16 goals in 36 league appearances during the 2016-17 season.

However, Solanke has now surpassed King's achievement, taking his tally to 17 league goals in Bournemouth's meeting with Man United at the Vitality Stadium.

The 26-year-old found the net in the 16th minute to break the deadlock and score against Man United for the second time this season.

A slip from Willy Kambwala gave Solanke the time and space to settle himself before picking out the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

As a result of his early strike, the Bournemouth marksman has now found the net in three of his last four home appearances.

Having racked up 17 goals in 32 league appearances, Solanke is one goal shy of Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and three goals adrift of the top-flight's leading scorer, Manchester City's Erling Haaland.
