Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Announce 2 NEW Netflix Series! Details!
by Perez Hilton · Perez HiltonPrince Harry and Meghan Markle have a lot more up their sleeve!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just announced two new upcoming projects with Netflix amid their deal with the streamer. And yes, one of them includes a cooking show!
According to Deadline on Thursday, the Suits alum is working on a series that will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.” Officially going after Martha Stewart‘s lane, we see! And it’s perfect to promote her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard!
The untitled project will be produced by Sony Pictures Television‘s The Intellectual Property Corporation — the group behind The D’Amelio Show and Leah Remini: Scientology & the Aftermath. Leah Hariton from Selena + Chef will be the showrunner with director Michael Steed (of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown). Meghan will EP for Archewell Productions alongside several others.
No word yet on if Prince Harry will appear in the cooking show, but he’s seemingly spearheading his own passion project! According to the outlet, the couple is also working on a second reality series about the world of professional polo, which is one of the Spare author’s favorite sports. It was shot primarily at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Florida and will highlight players while showing what it takes to compete “at the highest level.” Unclear if the Sussexes will appear on-camera in that one.
The show will be produced by Boardwalk Pictures, the company behind hits like Chef’s Table, Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? and Sex, Love & Goop. Miloš Balać, behind Welcome to Wrexham, will be the showrunner. Both Meg and Harry will be on the EP team.
Both projects are in the early stages of production. There’s no saying when they’ll be released but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Gotta admit, we have high hopes considering they each have such impressive teams behind the scenes!
Also, there could be more where this is coming from. Back in February, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said at an event that the co-parents have several things in development including “a movie, a TV show, and a couple of unscripted shows.” So, this might be the start of a ton more content as the royals close out their deal with the company!
