Lord Sugar vows to never get plastic surgery as he 'doesn't want to look like Simon Cowell'
Lord Sugar has insisted he will never get plastic surgery as he insisted he doesn't want to look like music mogul Simon Cowell after the Britain's Got Talent star denied 'drastic' cosmetic work
by Mia O'Hare, https://www.facebook.com/people/Mia-OHare-Journalist/ · Irish MirrorLord Sugar has made his stance on plastic surgery very clear as he's "growing old gracefully".
The businessman, 77, has spent nearly two decades on screen at the helm of BBC's The Apprentice. In 2013, he hired Dr Leah Totton to become his next business partner as she was awarded his £250,000. The entrepreneur used the money for her own cosmetic clinic, named Dr Leah Clinics. She is one of two Apprentice winners to still be in business with Lord Sugar.
However, it appears she wants to take their partnership one step further and turn him into a client. Lord Sugar, who had skin surgery around his eyes in 2007 to improve his vision, said: “Leah has been absolutely dying to inject me with loads of bloody things, and while my wife and daughter go to her for these things, I’ve told her, ‘No, thanks’, and haven’t let her do a thing."

He then took aim at music mogul Simon Cowell, 64, as he added: “I mean, what has Simon done to himself? He’s a really nice chap, but he’s been looking a bit strange lately — God forbid I were to ever go down that road. If you looked at a picture of me 20 years ago and one now, there would be a dramatic difference in the two. But then again, I am 77 and growing old gracefully doesn’t bother me at all.”
Simon has faced constant rumours he has a little help from plastic surgeons over his 'changing face'. He denied going under the knife after the opening episode of Britain's Got Talent last year, thanks to cheeky hosts Ant and Dec implying their boss was fond of a facelift. Simon told the Mirror : "I think it's hysterical. I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven't had a facelift or anything. I've had a bit of Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly it does make me laugh."
The Amstrad founder is back on screens hosting the latest series of The Apprentice, which sees Phil Turner and Rachel Woolford got head-to-head as this year's finalists. Tre Lowe, Flo Edwards and Paul Midha lost out on a place in the final earlier this week after getting through a series of tough interviews with Lord Sugar's advisors.
In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Paul, Tre and Flo admitted they were disappointed to not have made it through to the final. Dentist Paul told us: "Never live in the past, whatever has happened has happened, always live in the moment but, for me, I was absolutely gutted that I didn't get that mentorship. That’s the main reason we’re all there for, anyone can learn from their own mistakes but a wise person learns from the mistakes of others.
"And Lord Sugar was always openly admitting that he’ll never tell you what to do, but he'll tell you what not to do from his experiences – that's priceless. To not be able to get that is gutting but, I think we can all say that we could all hold our heads up high." Flo, who had hoped to use the investment to set up her own recruitment business, said: "I would have happily bowed out to any of the other four candidates in the top five. They are all entirely deserving of the place. And so whilst I'm personally gutted, I am delighted with the fact that I was in the final five with such amazing people."
While music star Tre praised the "level of encouragement" the final five showed each other. "It didn't feel that we were competing against each other, it generally felt that we wanted all of us to win," he explained. "Everyone was like, ‘Let's go and do this.’ And I love that – if I was able to go into war, I'd want these four by my side because I know I'm going to win."
