Meghan Markle's 'awkward' exchange with woman who posed next to Prince Harry
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a sweet public kiss at a Sentebale event in Miami, but in footage that has emerged since, it appears that Meghan had an awkward exchange with a woman who posed next to her husband
by Mollie Quirk · NottinghamshireLiveMeghan Markle experienced an awkward moment at the recent Sentebale polo tournament when she asked a woman to step away from Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen sharing a public kiss at a Sentebale event in Miami on Friday. Prior to this, they were spotted walking hand-in-hand, all smiles, ahead of Harry's fundraising polo match in Florida, with a film crew following their every move.
The Royal couple attended the annual Sentebale Polo Cup, a charity event that Harry co-founded in 2006. During the event, Harry led the Royal Salute Sentebale Team against the Grand Champions Team, emerging victorious. Meghan presented her husband with the trophy before they shared a kiss in front of the crowd, reports the Mirror.
However, in a video clip that has since surfaced, it seems that Meghan asked a woman in a white dress to move to the centre of the group and away from Prince Harry, so that she could stand next to him. In the clip, Harry can be seen keeping his arm around Meghan as she speaks to the woman, seemingly insisting that she stand next to her husband for the photo opportunity.
An uncomfortable interaction unfolded for a few moments on stage while everyone adjusted around them, and as Meghan stood firm alongside her husband, the woman had to manoeuvre under the trophy to find her position on stage, with the Duchess receiving a comment next.
Reflecting on the mishap, one observer took to social media stating: "They are both so awkward." Another chimed in: "This is just so cringeworthy! ! ".
However, another viewer highlighted: "It was actually the other woman in the white dress asking. Lol, people make the biggest deals out of literally nothing."
Prince Harry and his team scored an impressive 3-1 victory, with the Duke striking the initial goal. The event, captured by a Netflix camera crew, precedes the Duke of Sussex's upcoming series amid the couples multi-million-dollar agreement with the online streaming service.
News emerged last week of a forthcoming Netflix series focused on polo that would see the Duke and Duchess take the role of executive producers. The Sussexes are preparing to launch two distinct factual series, one of which will delve into the world of professional polo.
