Taylor Swift Is Gaining Ground On The Charts—A Lot Of It
by Hugh McIntyre · ForbesTaylor Swift seems to always be winning the sales race in America. No matter how far removed from an album release she is, or what competition she faces, the singer regularly dominates Billboard’s sales charts with not just one or two titles, but a plethora of huge sellers.
This frame, every title of Swift’s that’s present on the Top Album Sales chart–Billboard’s ranking of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs in the country–rises. They don’t all increase their total number of copies sold, but they do manage to climb from where they ranked last time around.
Swift claims eight spaces on the Top Album Sales chart this week. That’s a huge sum, considering the tally only includes 50 spots.
Three of Swift’s titles are living inside the top 10 this frame. She lands back-to-back wins on the tally with Lover and 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The loftier of the two jumps from No. 7 to No. 3, and it’s the only one of her projects to sell at least 10,000 copies–a sum it narrowly manages. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) comes next at No. 4, up just one rung. That set recently sold another 9,008 copies, according to Luminate.
Folklore rounds out Swift’s trio of top 10 wins on the Top Album Sales chart. That surprise project rockets from No. 13 to seventh place. The rock-leaning title sold another 6,406 copies last tracking period.
Swift narrowly misses out on scoring a fourth top 10 this time around. Midnights is up from No. 15 to No. 11, as it sold 5,642 albums in the past frame.
Three more projects from Swift appear inside the top 20 on the Top Album Sales chart this week. Evermore sits at No. 14 (up from No. 17), Red (Taylor’s Version) makes a home at No. 16 (up from No. 21), and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) lands at No. 18 (after appearing at No. 25 last week). All of those releases sold between 4,000 and just under 5,200 copies last week.

Swift’s lowest-ranking title on the Top Album Sales chart this frame is Fearless (Taylor’s Version). That first re-release comes in at No. 30 on the 50-rung list. It sold 2,969 copies last week, which is large enough for it to surge from No. 34, even though it actually sold better last frame.
