Simon Cowell has supported Amanda Holden after she was blasted by Sharon Osbourne.

The music mogul has come out in support of his Britain's Got Talent co-star after Sharon branded her "classless" and "crass" following Amanda's criticism of the comments the Celebrity Big Brother made about Simon. A feud between the women kicked off after Amanda was quoted as saying that she “hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon” and claimed that he helped their careers.

Amanda hit out at Sharon over her and Louis Walsh's comments about Simon on Celebrity Big Brother last month over the way he ditched them from the X Factor. Now it's emerged that Simon has reached out to Amanda following the extraordinary public bust-up between the pair.

It's been reported Simon sent a text message to Amanda via his fiancée Lauren Silverman. The source told The Sun: “Simon doesn’t have a phone so she did it on behalf of them both.

“For her part, Sharon is at a stage of her career where she really doesn’t give a s***.” The feud began when Amanda, in an article in the Daily Mail, said: "I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon - he's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had.

"It's bitter and pathetic. It was like Cinderella with her two sisters in the background - just stabby, stabby, stabby." Sharon refused to take the swipe laying down and hit back in an explosive open letter blasting the Heart FM presenter.

Simon and Amanda are close friends and colleagues

Sharon wrote on Saturday that Amanda did not know her “history in the music industry, my achievements, the artists I have worked with, the shows that I’ve produced, and my global celebrity”.

Sharon, who has managed The Smashing Pumpkins and Motorhead, added that “the brand of Sharon Osbourne is known worldwide” and she has been “blessed with an amazing lifestyle throughout my entire life” referencing her homes in the US and the UK.

She said: “I never discuss money, lifestyle, or positions of power. I find it to be classless and crude. However, you’ve now forced my hand to divulge these things to you and I honestly don’t want to seem like I’m bragging, but the truth is my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell talent shows.

“Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed doing them at the time as they were great fun. Yes, Simon paid me very well," she said before adding that her X Factor wage “my darling went on a few handbags”. Despite Sharon's open letter branding Amanda both "crass" and "classless", the Britain's Got Talent judge does not regret standing up for Simon.

A spokesperson for Amanda told the Mirror: “Amanda is aware of Sharon’s incredible career but, just like her, Amanda will always defend those close to her.”
