A detached fixer-upper house in Worcestershire countryside is on the market and neighbours a reassuring site for any resident. Although currently used as an office, Orchard House can be "easily converted" back to a four bedroom family home, according to the estate agents.

Fisher German in Worcester is selling the house for £475,000 on Rightmove. It's based in Sling Lane, on the edge of Hindlip Lane, in the discreet village of Hindlip.

While that's handy for Junction 6 of the M5, it's also even closer to the long arm of the law. The house is in an area renowned as the home of the local police force.

The property, which has four bedrooms and a detached garage all set in grounds that span 0.74 acres, is a neighbour of West Mercia Police's headquarters. Police officers from forensic teams to the force's dog training centre are homed in Hindlip, off Pershore Road.

Steps away in the charming village is even a Monument to West Mercia Police Dogs for whenever the new owner wants to take a scenic stroll. There's plenty of views to enjoy as the property is surrounded by stunning countryside in this quiet enclave in Worcestershire.

The Orchard is described as a "substantial, detached property" in the small village of Hindlip. It's also said to be ideal for anyone who commutes, due to the M5 nearby but also Worcester Parkway train station.

Work on the property would need to change rooms that have long housed desks and computers back to a cosy, relaxing settings for a family. There are even whiteboards attached to some of the walls, which can be removed.

If converted into a home, the property could be a chance to buy a detached house in Hindlip for slightly less than the going rate. The majority of sales in Hindlip during the last year were detached properties, according to Rightmove and they sold for an average price of £490,550.

An office style kitchen is within the walls of the house and there is also a traditional bathroom plus carpet on some of the floors from the days when it was formerly a home.
