Parties vigorously compete here to gain a stronghold, knowing its impact on national dynamics. In Uttar Pradesh, voting will be held in 7 phases for 80 seats here, in which the first phase (April 19) includes the seats of Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit.
In the second phase (April 26), voting will be held in Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura and Ghaziabad.
The third phase (May 7) includes Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badayu, Amla and Bareilly.
In the fourth phase (May 13), voting will be held in Shahjahanpur, Kheri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur and Bahraich.
In the fifth phase (May 20), voting will be held in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Barabanki, Faizabad, Kaiserganj and Gonda.
Whereas in the sixth phase (May 25), voting will be held in Sultanpur, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shravasti, Dumariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhilshahr, Bhadohi and Pratapgarh.
In the seventh i.e. last phase (June 1), voting will be held in Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Robertsganj.
In the upcoming elections, the BJP will lead the NDA, contesting most seats, while the Congress plans to field candidates in 17 constituencies. The Samajwadi Party, under Akhilesh Yadav's leadership, along with other INDIA bloc members, will vie for the remaining 63 seats.
In Uttar Pradesh's 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, 17 are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, while the remaining 63 are open to candidates from any background. In the previous elections, the BJP secured 303 seats, dominating the field, while the Congress, with only 52 seats, remained in the opposition without enough numbers to lead in the Lok Sabha.
