Cross LoC narcotics smuggling case | More recoveries of narcotics made in Nowshera LoC village - Greater Kashmir
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirRajouri, Apr 13: Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri said that more recoveries of narcotics has been made by police team during investigation of the case that has been registered three days ago after a VDC member and villagers of forward Makri village of Nowshera assisted police in recovery of 8.5 KGs of narcotics . This was followed by arrest of three accused.
In a statement, police said that carrying forward further investigations and working on further leads in FIR No 36/24 U/S 8/21/23 NDPS Act in Police Station Nowshera registered on April 10 in which police recovered 8.5 kg heroine, Rajouri Police made subsequent recoveries of Heroine like narcotic substance weighing 1.44 KGs.
During investigation of the registered case, official statement of Police mentions, Police team headed by SDPO Nowshera Jaswant Singh and SHO PS Nowshera Sumit Magotra under the supervision of SSP Rajouri AmritPal Singh carried out extensive search operations and arrested three accused persons namely Naveen Kumar son of Moti Ram, Sukhvinder son of Babu Ram and Davinder @Munna son of Rajesh Kumar, all residents of village Makri.
Notably, each of the arrested accused persons admitted their involvement in commission of crime during sustained questioning.
Worth to mention, multiple subsequent recoveries of heroin like narcotics weighing as much as 1.44 kgs have been made by the investigation officer who happens to be SHO PS Nowshera, police press note mentions.
The total recovery made in the instant case is 9.98 KGs till now, police said.
Mentionable that during preliminary investigation it came to fore that three vehicles, Dumper bearing registration number JK11G 8174, Motorcycle bearing registration number JK11C 3442 and load carrier (Mini Goods carrier vehicle) bearing registration number JK11C 9644 were used as conveyance in commission of crime after which Police have seized these vehicles in instant case.
Further investigation in case is going on and all forward and backward linkages shall be identified and dealt strictly within the ambit of law, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Amrit Pal Singh while sharing the details conveyed that Rajouri Police is working on multi-pronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse in which on one hand awareness programs are being organised in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis.
SSP Rajouri while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for drug peddlers in Rajouri District.
