4 gamblers arrested in Baramulla | Stake money seized - Greater Kashmir

Baramulla, Apr 14: Police in Baramulla have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities along the roadside at Goshbugh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 4 gamblers and recovered stake money of `4,550 and playing cards from their possession. The accused have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar , Mohd Yousuf Dar, both residents of Tangpora, Khursheed Ahmad Punoo and Shafi Ahmad Baba, both residents of Gohal Chakoo. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units,” police said.
