Fire services week being observed in Jammu - Greater Kashmir

Jammu, Apr 14: Like other parts of the country, the fire service week is being observed  from April 14l to 20  in Jammu also  to make public aware regarding the fire prevention and precautionary measures.

The  week is being  observed by Fire and Emergency Services, J&K in a befitting manne. A number of programmes are being launched throughout the week for mass public awareness. Main Commemoration Parade was held at Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters Gandhi Nagar Jammu, besides at Provincial and District levels. During the function  Alok Kumar –IPS (Addl DGP), Director, Fire and  Emergency Services J&K was the Chief Guest. After commemoration parade two minutes silence was observed in memory of martyrs and also wreaths were laid on the martyrs memorial by  Alok Kumar IPS, (Addl. DGP), Director, Fire and Emergency Services J&K;  R K Raina, Deputy Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Command Jammu; Dr Manju,  Medical Officer Jammu Sanjay Nagri Accounts Officer and other senior officers and Jawans of the department. Flowers were showered from a height of 42 mtrs by Aerial Ladder Hydraulic platform at the newly constructed martyrs memorial.
