UFC 300 live blog: Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage

This is the UFC 300 live blog for Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage, the opening main card fight this Saturday in Las Vegas.

Likely the most hyped prospect in all of MMA, Nickal is a three time NCAA Division-1 national champion and former U23 World champion wrestler. After coming up short in the 2020 Olympic trials, Nickal moved to MMA and almost immediately signed with the UFC. 5-0 since turning pro in 2022, Nickal has all the trappings of a future champion and superstar, and the UFC is giving him prime positioning on the biggest card of the year to prove it.

All hailing from a college wrestling background, Brundage’s career has been massively different from Nickal’s. Falling short on the Contender Series, Brundage nonetheless made his way to the octagon where he’s struggled to build momentum, amassing a 4-4 record overall in the UFC. However, he has won two in a row, which got him this opportunity to score the biggest upset in UFC history if he can defeat Nickal on Saturday.
