Top manager confirms he will watch Arsenal v Aston Villa to prepare for key fixture
Aston Villa head to Arsenal on Sunday and they'll be watched by former Chelsea and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel
by Joseph Chapman, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/joseph-chapman/ · Birmingham LiveThomas Tuchel will be watching Arsenal v Aston Villa this afternoon as he prepares for Bayern Munich's second leg of their Champions League quarter final tie against the Gunners - rather than watching Bayer Leverkusen as they likely seal the Bundesliga title. Leverkusen, under Xabi Alonso, are unbeaten this season and can win the league on Sunday if they beat Werder Bremen.
Tuchel, whose departure from Munich at the end of this season has already been confirmed, is fully focused now on the challenge of Arsenal in the Champions League; the former Chelsea and PSG manager saw his side leave the Emirates Stadium with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night in the first leg and now they have an opportunity to progress to the semis if they can post a home win on Wednesday.
For Arsenal, they have the entertaining of Villa first; the Lions were in action themselves in Europe on Thursday and they beat Ligue 1 side Lille 2-1 at Villa Park as they themselves look to secure some continental silverware in the Europa Conference League. They too have a second leg awaiting them this coming week.

Tuchel will be watching Arsenal v Villa - kicking off at 16:30 - with interest. When quizzed about whether he'd catch Leverkusen's potential title-winning match against Werder Bremen, Tuchel said: "No. I'm going to watch Arsenal."
While the Gunners still have the Premier League title to play for, Villa have an opportunity to cash in on Tottenham's hammering at Newcastle United on Saturday; despite not playing, they moved back above Spurs and into fourth on goal difference, with six games left to play.
