Virat Kohli-led Team India crashed out of the T20 World Cup 2021 following New Zealand's win over Afghanistan in their last league stage fixture. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play one more fixture but they cannot match NZ's tally of 4 wins. They have 2 wins from 4 matches and can register a maximum of 3 wins.

As India crashed out of the ICC event, skipper Kohli's old tweet went viral on social media. "going home tomorrow. not a good feeling," he had written on Twitter in Mach 2012. The Indian skipper had tweeted this after India crashed out of the Asia Cup 2012.

India had their hopes pinned on Afghanistan, who took on NZ in their last league stage fixture. A win for the Mohammad Nabi-led side would have opened the gates for India. But the India-Namibia fixture is now a dead rubber and a win won't boost India's chances.

Team India made the worst possible start to the T20 World Cup 2021 and lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets. The one-time champions only managed a total of 110/7 on the board against New Zealand and suffered their 2nd defeat of the tournament. It was for the 3rd time that NZ defeated the Men in Blue in the ICC event.

India made a strong comeback against Afghanistan and Scotland and defeated them by 66 runs and 8 wickets, respectively. India are heavy favourites against Namibia. But as mentioned, they are already out of the competition. Tomorrow, it will be for the last time when Kohli will lead India in T20Is. He had announced the decision to step down before the ICC event.

Pakistan and Australia are two teams which have made it to the semi-final from Group 2. England and Australia have made it to the semi-final from group 1. South Africa also won 4 matches but had lesser NRR than the two teams.
