Harry Winks starts, defensive change - The Tottenham team Antonio Conte should pick vs Everton

Here are the teams our Tottenham reporters would select for Sunday's Premier League clash away at Everton

Antonio Conte will take charge of Tottenham in the Premier League for the first time this weekend when the team travel to Everton.

Recording a hard-fought 3-2 win on Thursday evening after the Lilywhites got the better of Vitesse in the Europa Conference League, the new Spurs head coach will be looking to make it two wins from two.

Tottenham will certainly be confident of collecting all three points if they can replicate their display from the first 30 minutes against Vitesse, but what they must do is cut out the sloppy mistake at the back that let the Eredivisie side back into the contest.

Everton themselves also go into the fixture needing a win having lost their last three games in the league against West Ham, Watford and Wolves.

So who exactly will Conte start in his Tottenham team against the Toffees? Our Tottenham reporters Rob Guest and Emma de Duve have named the sides they would pick for the game on Merseyside.

Rob Guest - Tottenham Hotspur reporter

Antonio Conte certainly has a couple of decisions to make in terms of his Tottenham team following Thursday's win over Vitesse.

The main decision comes in the middle of the park as Harry Winks, on his return to the matchday squad after his recent absence, really took his chance when introduced for the final 17 minutes of the contest.

As Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg weren't exactly at their best against the Dutch side, the former could possibly make way to accommodate Winks.

Elsewhere, Conte must decide if Ben Davies remains part of his back three or he chooses to give Davinson Sanchez the nod after he helped Spurs see out the game.

The rest of the team picks itself with Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane continuing in a front three.

Emma de Duve - Tottenham Hotspur reporter

A first Premier League game for Antonio Conte with Spurs and a win is needed to stop the gap between Tottenham and the top four growing.

The line-up that beat Vitesse 3-2 showed some good spells of play and more importantly put on a performance with more energy and passion than has been seen in recent weeks.

I think the team should stay largely the same but a potential change in the back three, as I would maybe swap Ben Davies for Davinson Sanchez. Although Davies had a decent game, I think Sanchez may just bring a bit more to a back line in the Premier League.

I think the midfield brings a good balance and as some defensive gaps were seen against Vitesse, I don't think the likes of Tanguy Ndombele or Giovani Lo Celso should start in the middle four.

Hopefully, there will be more good work in the attacking half of the pitch and Harry Kane will get in the box even more to help him increase his goal tally in the league.
