According to a report in 90min, Antonio Conte has given the green light for Tottenham Hotspur to push ahead with moves of AC Milan duo Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Kessie over recent weeks while there have also been strong links to Romagnoli since Conte’s appointment was confirmed earlier this week.

90 min claim that the new Spurs boss is a fan of both players and that the North London club are hoping to snap up each on free transfers when their contract runs out next summer.

The report adds that Tottenham could look to complete both deals in January if they are able to agree on personal terms with Kessie and Romagnoli within the next two months.

It is explained that Spurs expect to face plenty of competition from Premier League clubs for Kessie but the club are thought to be hopeful that Conte’s arrival could help them win the race for the Ivory Coast international.

Finally, 90min claim that Milan have not yet given up hope of tying either player on long-term deals although both Kessie and Romagnoli have rejected every offer the Rossoneri have put on the table so far.

Landing Kessie on a free transfer next summer (or a cut-price deal in January) will be an amazing coup for Spurs. Our chances of winning the race for the Ivorian have certainly gone up after Conte’s appointment as 52-year-old evidently has a lot of pulling power.
