Pep Guardiola pays tribute to ‘absolutely incredible’ Luton Town

Pep Guardiola showered Luton Town with praise ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

The two sides started the day at opposites ends of the table, with the reigning champions third from the top while the Hatters sit third from bottom.

But Guardiola holds a ton of respect for Rob Edwards’ team, calling them an “example” to the rest of English football in how to run a club.

“What an amazing success story Luton are,” he wrote in his programme notes. “What they have done in recent seasons is absolutely incredible.

“They have a real chance of staying in the Premier League which would be an unbelievable success.

“They are a credit to their fans and an example to any other football club in England who want to do better.”

Luton have only won six games from 32 games this season, but they have won plaudits for their spirited displays and never-say-die attitude.

The club sit 18th in the standings on 25 points, level with Nottingham Forest who have a superior goal difference.
