Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has been reduced to tears after his club sealed back-to-back promotions after an historic afternoon at the Racecourse. The Red Dragons will be playing League One football next season, after a 6-0 win secured a huge victory against Forest Green Rovers.

It was thanks to two goals from Paul Mullin, and goals from Elliott Lee, Ryan Barnett and Jack Marriott. Ryan Inniss scored an own goal for the visitors. Wrexham needed MK Dons to fail to win in their home match against Mansfield Town and for Barrow to fail to win away to Gillingham.

MK Dons lost the game 4-1, whilst Barrow lost 3-0 to Gillingham, after having George Ray sent off in the 22nd minute. Get the latest news from our national teams by signing up to the Don't Take Me Home newsletter here.

Ryan, who couldn't be at the game as he is currently filming a new movie, wrote: "A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in North Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney. Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives."

Rob McElhenney, who is the co-owner of the club together with Reynolds, had posted on X during the game explaining how he was watching in Los Angeles with his son. He was clearly anxious as he watched the live league table, posting a picture of a character from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia smoking whilst looking stressed to illustrate his mood whilst looking at the league table and the implications of results in the other grounds.

After the final whistle, and when Wrexham's promotion was confirmed. The Hollywood actor shared a post from the club's official X account which read: "Fearless in Devotion…. rising to promotion". He captioned it with: "No words" and a heart emoji.
