OnePlus Pad 2 launch timeline tipped, should you wait for it or buy OnePlus Pad?

OnePlus has already launched a few phones at the start of 2024, and the company also recently announced its second-generation flagship watch globally after a few years of releasing the original variant. But, an upgraded version for the first-gen tablet is still pending. Well, tipster Max Jambor claims the OnePlus Pad 2 will arrive in the second half of 2024.

It is currently unknown when the tablet could arrive, but the launch could happen anytime after June, in the second half of 2024. Since we don't seem to be any close to the event, OnePlus hasn't confirmed the existence or launch of the OnePlus Pad 2. To recall, the first tablet called the OnePlus Pad made its debut in February last year, and it was made available with a starting price of Rs 37,999.

But, is it better to wait for the new version, or should you buy the original OnePlus Pad? There are hardly any details about the possible specifications of the OnePlus Pad 2 right now. But, we do expect OnePlus to make big changes. We would love to see a brighter display, a slightly bigger battery, a higher storage solution and more. It will likely upgrade it with a high-end flagship chip, the details of which are currently unknown. Now that leaks have started for the OnePlus Pad 2, we will likely get a rough idea of features in the coming months.

People who can't wait for the next generation OnePlus tablet can consider buying the OnePlus Pad. The good thing is that consumers who are planning to buy this device will be able to get it at a lower price right now. Flipkart and Amazon are selling the OnePlus Pad at its original price, but they are also offering discount offers on select bank cards.

Flipkart is giving a discount of Rs 5,000 on ICICI bank and OneCard bank credit cards, which will effectively drop the price to Rs 32,999. There are some offers on EMI options as well that one can check on the e-commerce website. Amazon, on the other hand, is also giving a flat discount of Rs 1,500 on the OneCard credit card. There are other discount offers as well, but on EMI options that you will find on Amazon.

The OnePlus Pad features an 11.6-inch LCD display, which offers a 144Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and 500 nits brightness (typical). The tablet draws power from MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC, and a 9510mAh battery with support for 65W SuperVOOC charging tech.
